AMJQ Advocating for You
Amid rising antisemitism globally and in medicine in Quebec, the AMJQ is working hard to advocate for Jewish clinicians, advance antisemitism education in medicine, and defend Jewish clinicians and trainees in the healthcare workplace, partnering with community organizations, government, and other like-minded groups. Here are some of our success stories and ongoing initiatives across Quebec!
AMJQ Launches a new speakers series on antisemitism in medicine at McGill: A Fireside Chat: Combatting Antisemitism in Medicine
In 2024-2025, the AMJQ partnered with the medical student organizations at UdeM and McGill to launch a new speakers series: A Fireside Chat: Combatting Antisemitism in Medicine, a series of upfront and frank conversations hosted at McGill University in the Faculty of Medicine's buildings. This is the first set of conversations held at McGill since October 7th focusing on antisemitism in medicine and one of the first in the history of Montreal, bringing together decision-makers, Jewish clinicians and trainees, and community members to confront uncomfortable truths and find constructive solutions to the challenges of antisemitism in medicine, with support from our community partners including CJA-Federation Montreal.
